Saudi Contracting Company launches the “Scafo” platform to follow up on contracting projects in the Kingdom and the region
The Saudi Contractors Authority launched the “Scafo” platform, which helps contractors and those interested in tracking and searching for contracting sector projects in the Kingdom and the Middle East.
This comes during the Saudi Contractors Authority’s conclusion of the Future Projects Forum, in its fifth edition 2023, in Riyadh, in the presence of more than three thousand contractors and interested parties from 16 countries around the world, with the participation of 43 government and private entities that reviewed the details and developments of more than three thousand future projects whose value was estimated at one trillion riyals.
Engineer Zakaria Al-Abdulqader, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Contractors Authority, stressed the role of leadership in supporting and empowering the contracting sector, which is the second largest non-oil sector in the Kingdom, in light of the economic developments taking place in the Kingdom, and in the middle of the journey of the ambitious Vision 2030, according to the Saudi Al-Iqtisadiah newspaper. .
Al-Abdulqader explained, “The tangible achievements in this year’s edition of the forum, the estimated value of the projects presented at one trillion riyals, as well as the diversity of projects, and bringing together parties related to the sector in one place and time, are the main goal of organizing such events, which contribute to the development of the contracting sector as an arm.” “executive for the success of the Kingdom’s vision, and enhances the development and sustainability of the national economy.”
He pointed out that this year’s edition of the forum witnessed a diverse international presence, as 25% of the total attendees were from outside the Kingdom, and the participating countries varied between the Russian Federation, the United States, some European countries and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
The Authority signed a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding with several governmental and private bodies, namely: the Spending Efficiency and Government Projects Authority, the National Housing Company, the Maharat Center for Construction Training, the Emad Company, the Benny Company, and the Ventures Middle East Company, which aims to develop the contracting sector system and improve the quality of… Contracting sector projects, raising the skills of workers in the sector, and increasing the percentage of Emiratisation, in addition to tracking sector projects and providing data related to them.
Several private parties and entities from the non-profit sector also signed several memorandums of understanding and agreements on the sidelines of the forum.
National Housing Company (NHC) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Saudi Contractors Authority, to enhance cooperation efforts in the building and construction sector, raise the efficiency and diversity of real estate contractors, and provide opportunities for mutual development, on the sidelines of the Future Projects Forum. The memorandum of understanding includes an electronic link with the Saudi Contractors Authority, participation in the qualification of contractors specialized in the field of building, construction and infrastructure works, and the exchange of experiences in the field of evaluating the performance of contractors, in addition to coordination to hold joint workshops to enable contractors and real estate developers to benefit from future opportunities, and reflect this on Content and local output.
