He stated that the committee contributed to many supportive decisions, including dividing the financial compensation, amending the value-added tax entitlement mechanism, stopping the obligation in the professional examination program, and granting companies special quarantine permits, in addition to correcting employment in modifying professions and transportation, and stopping penalties and evaluation during the Corona pandemic. Al-Hammad continued: “The Saudi Contractors Authority is working to draw a road map for the sector, and cooperation between us achieves the highest standards that the contracting sector in Saudi Arabia aspires to.”

On the other hand, the hosting witnessed the signing of an agreement between the Federation of Saudi Chambers and the Saudi Contractors Authority, signed by the Secretary-General of the Federation, Hussein Al-Abdulqader, and the Secretary-General of the Authority, Engineer Thabet bin Mubarak Al-Suwaid, which includes expanding the scope of cooperation between the two sides, laying the foundations and standards for regulating and developing the sector, and activating systems. And relevant decisions, enabling national enterprises to undertake building and construction projects and improving their working conditions, providing technical advice to companies, identifying challenges and obstacles and presenting proposals and solutions.
Among the measures included in the agreement is to enhance the participation of sector establishments in construction programs in accordance with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, in addition to expanding the membership of contractors in the Authority and benefiting from its services, exchanging information and experiences, and holding seminars, conferences and workshops.
In addition, the General Grain Corporation has completed the procedures for awarding the third batch of imported wheat for the current year, amounting to 495 thousand tons, for supply from origins in Europe, North and South America, and Australia.
Ahmed Al-Fares, Governor of the General Grains Corporation, explained that the Kingdom’s ports continue to receive contracted wheat ships according to the approved supply schedules, indicating that contracting for this batch comes within the framework of enhancing the strategic stock of wheat, maintaining it at safe levels, and meeting all the wheat milling companies’ needs.
He stated that the period for the arrival of the third contracted batch will be during the period from November of this year to January 2023, with 8 ships distributed among 3 for the Jeddah Islamic Port with a quantity of 185 thousand tons, and 3 for the Yanbu Commercial Port with a quantity of 185 thousand. tons, and two ships to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam with a quantity of 125 thousand tons. 24 international companies specializing in grain trade were invited, of which 13 companies applied to compete, and 4 were awarded the lowest-priced offers for the required shipments.
